Sedona in the spring is magical! It’s coming back to life with colorful green trees and cactus blooming every once in a while. Bella + Johnny met in Flagstaff but are in love with the Sedona red rock setting. It was a must for their engagement session!
They met years ago while both working at a local salad/sandwich shop. They hit it off. He says she is truly his best friend. They do everything together! She is the sweetest human with a hint of spunk and drive. He is gentle and constant- not moving while things get hard. Together they make a beautiful match that will stand the test of times.
Oh the sweetness of being loved. On a warm humid August Sunday morning, I found my dear friend Morgan getting ready in a church for her wedding that day. Her and her girls were laughing and all humming around the room. There was this excitement in the air. Morgan and Andrew didn’t want to do a first look. They are traditional in that way and I respect that about them. WOW was it worth the wait. If you scroll down you can see Andrew’s face when Morgan walked through the white church doors. Priceless. It’s in these moments we find the meaning of life. When everyone is silence, present, and partaking in the beauty of a union.
Rockport, Massachusetts is BEAUTIFUL. North of Boston on the coast, Rockport sits looking over the Atlantic Ocean. It’s everything you think a New England coastal town would look like. Tight houses all lining the roads with white cottage style architecture homes and ocean views. I can’t express how much I want a home there but sadly I live very far away. Morgan and Andrew met at a friends wedding a few years earlier. He was instantly smitten. He had his eye on the price from that moment and did everything he could to convince her of his love. And it worked! Their families and friends were a lively bunch breaking out in song at random parts of the day to their wild dancing. I believe the couples energy makes a wedding but ALSO their guests do. And let’s just say I’ve never sweated so much during a dance party! Possibly due to the humidity but mostly due to the intensity of dancing!!
Their love is sweet. It’s goofy. It’s honest and true.
Phoenix in the spring is a site to see! Pink beautiful flowers blooming, cactus full of green, and everyone out and about. Chilly winter days are over but the heat of summer is headed soon. Audrey and Kevin waited for the very best moment of the year to get married. People from across the country flock to Phoenix in the spring for sports events but mostly the weather. Perfect 75 and sunny every day without fail. Their wedding could not have gone better even if they tried. Every detail did not go untouched or forgotten. I almost don’t want to write anything and want the photos to speak for themselves…..but I have to write just a little 🙂
A few years ago Kevin had just returned from school in California where he acquired a man bun and a beach tan. Audrey went out with her girlfriends on St. Patrick’s days not expecting to meet this stud of a man. Full of wild and wonder their relationship started after talking ALL night at a bar. I must say, after knowing them for over a year, the match Kevin and Audrey make literally couldn’t be better. She is compassionate, creative, and spunky. He is genuine, intentional, and calm.
The day started at BeeSpoken, a quaint Inn in downtown Scottsdale. Laughter was abundant and mimosa’s were flowing. Did I mention how FREAKING BEAUTIFUL every little detail of this wedding was thought through and remembered? Yeahhhh… it was a dream to photograph this day from start to end. The Arizona sun, I’m telling you, has something about it I’m obsessed with. Crisp bright light!! Audrey and her girls, who consisted of sisters, cousins, and best friends from college, gathered around as she got her hair and make up done in a upscale well designed chic room at the Inn. The guys played games downstairs and drank good ole beer together.
El Chorro, the wedding venue, is a happening place in North Scottsdale. With flowing fountains, Spanish styled architecture, and amazing food nestled by mountains and desert, it’s an oasis for celebrations. Can I just say… wow. Just wait till you scroll down and see every detail and color come all together. Audrey and Kevin share this love for their friends and family that was their motivating factor in their wedding day. They created a beautiful day for their people to take part in. There is something to be said about beauty and how it invites us into rest and take a step away from the chaos of the world. Each wedding does this for me.It’s not about the flowers or the cake or the venue necessarily, although it helps you be drawn into beauty. It’s the moments that are shared between two families coming together, friends who haven’t seen each other in a long time, and a ceremony that only happens once a lifetime. Weddings invite us, for one night, to reconnect, eat good food with good friends, and have fun dancing like a kid again.
I’ve never seen the father of a bride be so in love with his new son coming into the family as I watched Audrey’s Dad invite Kevin in. It made me tear up thinking about how they once were strangers but overtime became family. Their wedding was full of these kind of moments throughout the day. Two families joining and SO freakin excited about it. This one will be written down in the books for me. Enjoy looking through the beautiful photos, they were so fun to take!
The wind was cold and the air was thin. The first day of the New Year my good friends Mark and Jessie drove hours from Indiana to have their lovely engagement photos taken. None of us thought it was going to be in the negatives!!! We photographed outside as long as any of us could bare it. We found a friends new Mid-Century Modern home to photograph in. THANK GOD.
I take it as an honor to be apart of Mark’s life through ups and downs of college. To be friends for years and years and be introduced to his new fiance who that fits him like a glove. They are funny and kind together. He is soft and caring, she is passionate and wildly free. They match each other in ways that I couldn’t have dreamed up for him.
THESE COLORS!!!! were UNREAL!!! Who knew a late November creekside wedding at L’Auberge would be the perfect temperature with all the right autumn colors. The orange, to the pinks to the maroons and greens. Cindy and Mark chose the very best weekend to have their small intimate wedding in Sedona.
They met a few years ago while working at the same architecture firm in Boston. With new opportunities opening in Phoenix, they moved and now live in a cute downtown house with character and warmth. Their wedding day was one of those perfect sweet days filled with the right amount of guests, warm breeze, and creek sounds.
She is gentle, creative, and compassionate.
He is kind, direct, and corky.
Mark’s brother performed the wedding ceremony down on the lawn over looking the trees and water. The sun came in at our backs and lit up Cindy as her and her dad walked down the isle. If you know me at all, you know I am obsessed with long tables that go on forever. This is why I love love love small intimate gatherings is because everyone can fit around ONE table. Maybe it’s all the chairs in a row lined up waiting or the plates awaiting to hear good long conversation for hours. But I do know something special happens when there is time spent at one long table. For hours Cindy and Mark’s family and friends, from all over the country, enjoyed a long wonderful meal to celebrate the day two became one.
The warm summer breeze rolls in on the morning of September the second. You would think there should be a cool ocean breeze considering we were in Santa Barbara but oh no it was warm that day. Close to 95 degrees most of the day, Demi and Austin said I do beneath a beautiful large tree at Godric Grove looking over the rolling hills of California. It was a dream of a day. Full of whimsy and wonder. California brings joy to me every time I visit, especially when visiting Santa Barbara. You have mountains AND ocean all in one place. No wonder Demi and Austin decided to get married at the very place they met and fell in love.
They attended Westmont College right there in SB years earlier. He fell in love with her day one of freshmen year. They were inseparable since. He cares for her the way you do your most precious jewel, you never let it out of your sight. Austin is gentle and kind and very intelligent. Demi is as sweet as they come, with tenderness and understanding in her eyes. They are those type of people you ALWAYS want to be like. I cannot imagine what a fight looks like between them, it’s probably the nicest of fights.
Demi got ready at one of her bridesmaids parents houses in town. The whole morning was joyous and calm. Can you even get over her BHLDN dress? Cause I couldn’t ALL day. It was everything I’ve always wanted in a wedding dress. Each detail of their day was thought through and cared for. Not to mention their reception was one of the best I’ve been too. Those California people know how to party all night long!! Between the photobooth, the wonderful mexican food, the perfectly selected songs by the DJ, and the slow sunset over the valley, it was a dream I’m convinced!
